“The smartphone is beautiful” – said Jeff Bezos, founder and executive director of Amazon. “I can’t hardly wait for you to get it. Top nothc materials, rubber frame, Gorilla Glass on both sides…”
Perhaps, one of the most interesting specs is the ability of the phone to show 3D images, thanks to four specialized cameras on the front side of the phone which are following head tilts of the user. 3D images work even in the dark, thanks to the ability of the cameras to work via infrared light mode.
“The key is that the smartphone always knows where the head of the user is in real time” – Bezos said.
Fire Phone has a 4.7 inch screen, and Bezos says it is the ideal size for frequent use of the phone. The main, back camera has 13 megapixels. The camera lens are equipped with tiny engines who are setting them 100 times in a second, thus making the hand shaking of the user unnoticeable on the images.
Fire OS 3.5.0 is the new version of Android OS which runs Kindle Fire HDX tablets.

The frame of the phone is made from rubber, but Amazon wasn’t saving on the design. The button are made from high quality aluminum, while the back of the device is swept with the gorilla glass surface. Gorilla Glass 3 is also on the front side, and the device weighs 160 grams.
Amazon is very proud of their optically stabilized back camera, even though the device comes with some other quality components like Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB of AM and powerful battery of 2.400 mAh.
It should be pointed out, that this time the company wasn’t toying with lower prices, yet they have decided to earn some cash from their hardware, unlike from their existing tablet product line which is basically earns only from sales of the Amazon services, and not the sales of the device.
For now, Fire Phone will exclusively be available only with a 2 year contract with AT&T with starting price of $200 for the model of 32GB.
The SIM free version of the phone comes in July and the version with 32 GB will cost $649, while 64 GB version will be $749.
