Microsoft has announced the end of the extended support for Windows 7 for 2020. while classic support for this OS will end on January 13th 2015.

Windows 7 is currently installed on 50 percent of PCs in the world, and Microsoft is hoping that it will successfully perform a transfer for its users to their latest OS Windows 8.

Analytic company Gartner issued a press release for users telling them to prepare for upcoming change, but that it would probably be better to wait for Windows 9 in order to make the change directly to the latest system.

Microsoft has shut down support for Windows XP in April this year, and at the moment of the support shutdown XP has been installed on more then 500 million PCs around the world.
