Instagram and Pinterest are the two places where food lovers gather to keep an eye on the latest and most innovative food recipes. From your grandma’s cookies to exotic dishes from the far east, you will find everything when following the right people.

Till now you needed to write down or print the recipes and do all the cooking preparation on your own. Luckily that’s not the case anymore. From now on you will have Handpick on your side, which will allow you to become a professional cook with ease.

Handpick started out as an app that would help you create some cool recipes with the ingredients you have on hand. If you had only eggs and cucumber in your fridge, this app could still turn them into spectacular dishes.

It seems like Handpick has evolved now with its ability to automatically scan the sea of cooking information available on Instagram and Pinterest. This will allow you to prepare the perfect dish next time you drool over all of those Instagram food hashtags.

The app itself is very precise because it doesn’t use only algorithms to address the perfect recipe for your needs. CEO Payman Nejati announced that there is also lots of human curation involved in the process, which is always a good thing.

“Instagram is effectively a database of over 1 billion food posts. We started analyzing that data through the public API and using computer vision, we know whether a post is about food. We then look at the caption and use that information to match recipes to social media posts.”

You can pick up Handpick for free at the iOS App Store and in Google’s Play Store. Have a nice meal.
