Laptops and tablets that are transformable have increased in popularity lately, and it is quite obvious that the manufacturers are putting a lot of money into developing new models.

We had Yoga Pro 2 from Lenovo, Asus Transformer Pad both laptops that turned into tablets.

Now we have something different from Dell, primarily a tablet that is turning into a laptop by need.
The new XPS from Dell looks a lot like Microsoft Surface Pro 2 as it also features a soft touch keyboard that can be layout for users need. Dell is not new in this game, as it already has Dell XPS 12, but XPS 11 is something a bit different. The device is lighter, slimmer and smaller with a screen of 11.6 inches. That change has delivered a great result, so the device looks much more slick and premium.

The device has carbon fiber based body which packs 2560 x 1440 screen, and the XPS 11 looks cool.
Is there more to this hybrid then it looks?

Well next to its looks, Dell XPS 11 has some really decent power under its amazing carbon fiber chassis.
The device is powered by 1.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor which features 3M of Cache. The graphic chip is separate Intel HD Graphics 4200, and it comes with 4GB of DDR3 ram which runs at 1600 MHz.
When it comes to internal storage it has 256GB solid state drive which makes work on its Windows 8.1 really fast and flexible.

Like mentioned earlier the screen with high resolution makes the 2K cinema experience really great, plus with this fine firepower under the hood a lot of most modern games were working fine on a decent 30 FPS.

The speakers are ok, but they have a bit of problems when it comes to high tones, and they seem to ruin certain high pitched sounds, and some of the explosions feel garbled.

This all sound great, but when it comes to price, Dell XPS 11 really can’t brag. The price for the model with highest specs is $1499, and some basic variant of the device starts with $999. These prices are really something that ruins the experience of this kind of device and creates some competition for this device in its class.

We really like beautiful carbon fiber body, great looking and sharp screen and display with an amazing pinpoint touchscreen. The hardware is also great, except for the speakers, but that can be alternated.
We don’t like the scratch-prone finish, a bit aggravating keyboards, and that integrated graphics can sometime really ruin the video or gaming experience.

The Dell XPS 11 is a really beautiful and fashion oriented device, with an amazing WQHD screen that allows 2K cinema experience, nice hardware, but it’s price is the thing that sets it way back behind competition.
