Apple is planning on purchasing the start up US based platform BookLamp that can create a DNA of desired book and then make a recommendation for a reader based on semantic and lexical elements.
BookLamp is the same thing as Pandora in the music industry. It gives the readers the same services as Panodra gives to the music lovers.
TechCrunch has published that Apple has offered between 10 and 15 million dollars for this young start up.
BookLamp technology can scan a catalog with detail in order to determine the similarities between the books and finally give a recommendation to the reader. With BookLamp Apple could help its iBook users to find and buy the books that match their expectations.
With this purchase Apple is trying to strike its competitor Amazon.
