Tablet computers only exist for a couple of years, and they have really become popular. Even though they are offering many possibilities some of them still can’t replace a classic laptop with fully working operating system like Windows or Mac OSX.

That’s why lately a lot of devices have become hybrids of the two, tablet and laptop all in one. Are they effective enough?

With the arrival of Windows 8 and the release of the Microsoft Surface, the new class of laptops with touch screen capabilities has arrived to market. That allowed for companies to build special devices that have the ability to transform from one form to another – from tablet to laptop and vice versa. This allows for serious work to be done in laptop mode, and with a simple button click the keyboard is separated from the screen and the device is transformed in a powerful mobile device – tablet.

These devices come in different shapes and forms. We have those where the display rotates and folds, then ones where display shifts to the bottom of the laptop, and we have the most modern types where display totally separates from the keyboard. Though they all have different approach to transformation, they do have a lot in common, they are all compact, fast and have awesome touch screen capabilities.

Recently, three interesting models have arrived on the markets, so we decided to make a little compare test. Three new interesting models are Asus TransformerBook T100TA, Samsung XE500T1C, and Acer Iconia W700.
